Sherlocked is looking for Dutch and English speaking Game Masters with a talent for storytelling and hospitality to lead our award-winning escape room adventures.

About Sherlocked

We create adventures. We started in 2014 with one of the first escape rooms in the Netherlands and have since been continuously developing new groundbreaking projects.

We have three experiences at the Amsterdam Beurs van Berlage:

  • The Vault: an award-winning adventure where players feel like they are in a cinematic heist.
  • The Architect: a twist on the classic escape room format in Berlage's hidden office.
  • The Alchemist: a magical experience inspired by the worlds of J.K. Rowling, Luc Besson and Christopher Nolan.

‍Playful, theatrical guidance is an important part of our adventures, which is why we are always looking for enthusiastic people with a knack for games to join our team.

You:

  • Are a storyteller
    You know how to engage people in a story and enjoy improvising with it. We have Dutch speaking and international visitors. The rooms are in English by default, which is why next to (at least some) Dutch, a proficiency in English is required. ‍
  • Are self-reliant
    If a part of the game doesn't work, it's important that you can think of a solution yourself, sometimes even during a game. We're always ready to help, but it's important to have a solution-oriented attitude yourself.
  • ‍Are reliable
    As a host, you're responsible for the quality of the experience. For many people, you'll be the face of Sherlocked.
  • Live in or near Amsterdam and are able to work for at least 3 shifts per week.

Practical information

  • We pay through payroll or invoice for freelancers.
  • Freelancer hourly rate: from €19.00 excl. VAT
  • A full work shift is up to 8.5 hours per day
  • You apply for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 shifts per week
