Abigail Vandermist's whereabouts
Dear mrs. Vandermist,

After careful investigation, your dossier helped determine the events leading up to your sister’s disappearance from the town of Listenburg in August 1979.

Abigail linked the two missing person’s cases to an agency called ‘Safeguarding of Exposed Assets’ or S.E.A., which also seems to have a connection with your late father. One of the victims was an undercover Russian spy. She was executed by an S.E.A. agent on the night of March 29th, after she followed them to a secret stash in the polder. The other victim was killed for witnessing the crime from his yacht.

The killer apparently acted on their own accord, although the S.E.A. did strive to keep the incident under wraps. They exerted their influence over law enforcement and the media, and summoned a specialist to erase any tracks. This person, Judy Katz, eventually became aware of Abigail’s investigation. She must have recognized her name and kept a close eye on her. Your sister made an impression and chose to be recruited into Katz’ S.E.A. unit, in the hope of learning more about the work of your father. This unit was located in or near Oslo, Norway. Further details are unknown.

This is all there was to find in the dossier; hopefully it will be of help in focusing your search efforts. If you would like continued assistance unearthing what the S.E.A. was and whether it still exists, that would be a wholly separate case. The same is true for the name of the agent who did the killing, or the original contents of the stash.

Kind regards,

Re: Abigail Vandermist’s whereabouts
Dear [name-here],

This must be my third or fourth attempt at writing this email. I can’t find the words to describe how this feels. Validation, for the first time in decades! A sliver of hope even, thanks to you.

I believe you’re onto something. The name of a ‘dr. Katz’ rings a bell, I think Abigail and I met her once as little girls. If that was her, she made a lasting impression. For whatever reason, the woman terrified me. Maybe she just wasn’t good with children.

She must be pushing 80, if she’s still alive. Unfortunately, that’s all I know for now. But I will find out what she did to my sister! Oslo is a large place, but I have friends there and now I have a name to drop.

Thank you for your help. If I come across any more mysteries I can’t solve, I’ll be sure to contact you again.

Helena
